We use this product to help control iron levels. Excessive iron build-up fans the flames of inflammation in Hep C. Other heavy metals like mercury and lead do this as well, though they are not essential to body function like iron. Apolactoferrin is the iron depleted form of lactoferrin and has a high affinity ro scavenging free iron. Lactoferrin modulates the immune system, upregulates natural killer cells and can bind directly to viral receptors. Iron is needed for bacterial growth and it can snuff out bacterial infections by depriving them of it.
