My alpha-fetoprotein is high and I'm scared
to death, what does this mean?
Alpha-fetoprotein or A-f is a blood marker for
liver cancer. Elevated A-f always happens in cases with progressed
liver damage, at least Stage 3 in Hep C. In Hepatitis B, disease
progression can jump from a relatively undamaged liver to
liver cancer. Every case of liver cancer that I have seen
in a Hep C patient the A-f has been over 1000. The leading
liver surgeon in the Bay Area who sees many more cases than
I, on my query of what is generally the lowest reading of
A-f when there is cancer present, replied 200 - 400, but generally
much higher. Most patients whose readings have been under
100 we have been able to reduce or normalize with a diligent
protocol including coriolus, red clover combination, squalene,
tian qi, glutathione, and now zeolite. High A-f readings are
not death sentences, but a call to action.
I'm confused on what to take, there are
so many choices. Can you make this simpler?
Base protocol of Hepatitis C Powder, Siliphos,
Se-Methyl-Selenocysteine (selenium), and GSH (glutathione).
If Stage 2 or beyond add in Calcium and Lithium
Orotate.
For any symptoms or abnormal blood tests go
to Blood Tests or Symptoms Box.
Everybody with an active hcv needs extra selenium
as the virus depletes this element. Take 200 mcg for every
40 lbs body weight. Use methyl-selenocysteine as it is a safe
organic form. I like Siliphos for every case as well. This
is an excellent milk thistle product, bonded with phosphatidyl
choline for better absorption. Over the years we have used
many milk thistle products and this is the best, use 3 caps
2x daily which is 1080 mg. Everyone can use glutathione or
glutathione building products. Glutathione is the major intracellular
anti-oxidant found in the liver and Hepatitis C is a disease
of oxidative damage, therefore this is a directly useful substance.
NAC, alpha lipoic acid, whey proteins all build glutathione
levels. These are useful, however they are not as strong as
the Liposomal Glutathione or GSH. This is a breakthrough liquid
formula that places glutathione in a pouch whose walls are
identical to the phospholipids that make up human cell membranes
insuring cellular absorption. The strongest way to increase
glutathione levels is IV treatments, though the cost and availability
can be daunting. LEM+ is our signature product, originally
known as Hepatitis C Formula. This will upregulate the immune
system via the Natural Killer cells and the bodies endogenous
interferon levels. We can now give a very strong daily dose
as being direct importers has lowered the cost.
.
Now we use testing and symptomology to determine our next
moves. Every case of stage 2 or higher reported on biopsy
we add in calcium and lithium orotates. These will reverse
liver damage through quieting down the production of ROS (reactive
oxygen species) which damage the liver in the first place.
Now from here we have many choices and I urge
you if you have an advanced case to seek out a consultation.
Why the high doses of selenium and does
it really matter what kind you use?
Selenium is part of how this virus works. HCV
encodes seleno-proteins, depleting selenium reserves from
the cells. One researcher out of the University of Georgia
theorizes that when this virus uses up selenium, it will go
cell to cell looking for it effectively spreading. Keeping
adequate selenium encourages the latency of this virus. In
testing of other viruses, they have found that in the face
of inadequate selenium supply the virus will become more pathogenic,
then if it spreads to another person or animal it will start
off more pathogenic even if there is plenty of selenium in
the new host.
Selenium reduces mutations among viruses that
encode seleno-proteins this includes HIV as well. According
to the premier researcher of selenium in this country, Dr.
Richard Passwater, an effective and safe dose of selenium
for HCV patients is 100 mcg daily for every 20 lbs of bodyweight.
Selenium and HepC is similar to Vitamin C and colds, your
body can use higher doses of specific nutrients under certain
conditions.
Now the type of selenium is critically important.
With high doses of methyl-selenocysteine we have not seen
a single side effect, a statement that we cannot make about
l-selenomethione which is synthetically derived. Methyl-selenocysteine
is concentrated by certain plants including wild leeks, garlic,
onions, and broccoli. This product is both more effective
and safer.
How does hcv reproduce and infect the liver?
HCV attaches itself to a liver cell. It uses
it's protective lipid protein coat to merge undetected with
the host cell's outer membrane. The cell membrane covers or
surrounds the virus, until the viral core is inside of the
cell. The viral coat dissolves which releases viral ssRNA
into the host cell. To conserve energy for reproduction the
virus may shut down the cell's usual functions. HCV
takes over the cell and uses the cells's ribosomes for viral
production. The host cell follows the viral gene instructions
instead of its own. Viral RNA then makes a template of self
for creating new RNA viruses. HCV-RNA is copied hundreds or
thousands of times making genetic material for the new viruses;
some of which will contain mutations. The cells ribosomes
are now directed to produce protective coatings. The new lipid
coated RNA virus travels inside the plasma membrane, attaches
and creates a bud. The membrane covers the virus with protective
coat and releases it to start all over on a new liver cell. |
